Doula Services in the Eastern Los Angeles and Riverside Area

Eastern Los Angeles Doula | Claremont Doula

At Birth to Latch, every family is supported by a highly trained, certified doula backed by an agency of professionals.
That means continuity, reliability, and a team committed to your birth experience — not just one person.

We believe families thrive when doulas are supported, too.
That’s why every Birth to Latch doula receives ongoing mentorship, advanced training, evidence-based tools, administrative support, and access to our in-house specialists, including lactation care.
When your doula feels supported, you feel more supported.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely. Doulas provide meaningful support for both planned and unplanned cesarean births. Your doula can help you prepare emotionally and practically ahead of time, support you before surgery, and be present with you in recovery to offer reassurance, advocacy, and emotional support during the early postpartum period.

  • Getting started is simple. You’ll begin by submitting an inquiry through our website or emailing us at hello@birthtolatch.com. From there, we’ll schedule a complimentary intake call with a member of our administrative team. This call allows us to learn more about your family, your preferences, and the type of support you’re looking for.

If you decide to move forward, we’ll complete the service agreement, and your birth doula will begin communicating with you. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet your doula at a meet-and-greet to ensure it feels like a good fit.

  • Yes. In fact, approximately 95% of the families we support give birth in a hospital setting. Our doulas are experienced in working alongside hospital care teams and supporting families through a wide range of hospital birth experiences.

  • Doulas support both you and your partner. While your partner knows you best, doulas are trained in the physical, emotional, and practical aspects of birth. Many partners appreciate having a doula present because it allows them to stay grounded, confident, and fully present — while knowing someone else is there to guide, support, and anticipate needs.

  • Your doctor or midwife is your primary medical provider, and we value collaborative care. A doula’s role is different — we provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. Your doula is there to help you prepare for birth, support you throughout labor, and offer postpartum emotional support, complementing the care provided by your medical team.

  • While this is rare, we always have a backup doula available should your primary doula become sick or unable to attend your birth. Backup doulas are experienced members of our team and are on call to ensure you receive uninterrupted support when you need it most.

  • Yes! We accept Kaiser, Health Net and other select insurance partners. Insurance-covered care would be used as outlined by your insurance coverage and may look different then what is outlined above.

  • A retainer fee reserves your spot, and the remaining balance is due at 37 weeks. Payment plans are available upon special request. Fee is based on market rate for Los Angeles County.

Postpartum Doula Support

No baby shower gift or gadget can truly support you through feeding questions, newborn care, recovery, or the emotional adjustment of bringing a baby home. A postpartum doula offers something different -

human support during one of life’s biggest transitions.

At Birth to Latch, our postpartum doulas are here to support you as you settle into life with your newborn. We provide non-judgmental, practical care that meets you where you are — whether you’re a first-time parent or welcoming another baby.

Our role is to help families feel confident, supported, and less alone during the early weeks and months after birth. We thoughtfully match families with doulas based on their needs and availability, creating a trusted connection during this tender time.

What Postpartum Support Can Look Like

Postpartum doula care is flexible and responsive to your family’s needs. Support may include:

Feeding support for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or combination feeding

  • Education around infant sleep, development, and safety

  • Emotional support and space to process your postpartum experience

  • Light household support related to baby care, such as laundry, bottle and pump cleaning, and tidying shared spaces

  • Meal preparation or nourishment support

  • Babywearing guidance and support with getting out of the house confidently

  • Support for postpartum recovery and self-care practices, when requested

  • Accompaniment to pediatric appointments, if helpful

  • Daytime support that allows parents to rest while baby is cared for

  • Guidance with daytime naps, soothing techniques, and feeding troubleshooting

  • Help creating gentle routines that support both baby and parent well-being

Our doulas support both baby and parents with reassurance, education, and hands-on care, always tailoring support to meet each family’s unique needs.

Insurance Coverage

We are proud to support families using a variety of insurance options and offer services within their guidelines:

  • Carrot Fertility Members:
Services are reimbursable after full payment is made. We’ll provide a detailed invoice for your claim submission.

  • In-Network with Kaiser and Health Net, Private and Medi-cal (HMO Plans):
If you are covered under one of these plans, doula services are provided according to your insurance model of care. This includes virtual visits, labor and birth support, and postpartum care as outlined by your benefits.

  • Out-of-Network PPO Plans:
We’re happy to provide a comprehensive superbill after services are completed so you can request reimbursement directly from your insurance provider. This would be a self pay for doula support birth and/or postpartum. Many insurance companies will reimburse you for all of your support services.
